Gautier is a French manufacturer of premium contemporary furniture, renowned for its stylishly practical modular collections.
Founded in 1960, it now enjoys considerable success at a global level, with over 100 Gautier stores in 45 countries, a turnover of €140m and 930 employees.
Despite its international presence, Gautier continues to manufacture 95% of its products in the Vendee region of France, and to this day the Soulard family-owned business is characterised by its 3 core values; humility, harmony and honesty.
Gautier has over 100 franchise stores across 45 countries, and has operated in the UK for 25 years via third party retailers. The UK plan is to open 15 standalone Gautier franchise stores in defined targeted locations from London to Glasgow.
There is a dedicated support team based in Hertfordshire, and one corporate showroom in Central London. A significant brand communication campaign is being delivered to drive crucial customer awareness both online and offline during this period of retail growth.

Initial training is intensive, to cover all store operations, systems, product information and selling skills. This will be delivered at the France head office and factories, followed-up by working alongside an existing store team and the commercial team in the UK.
Ongoing training is delivered in-store with practical and online training tools being supplemented with factory/exhibition visits and franchisee conference. Gautier encourages partners to continually develop and share best practice.
Daily Life of a Franchisee
Gautier franchisees thrive in the retail environment, offering excellent customer service and a premium in-store experience. Managing a small sales team, the franchisee uses the tools available to deliver a beautifully merchandised store and great advice to their customers.
However they also look outside of their retail box – they network locally and embed their store in the local community. Marketing, operational and commercial skills combine to make a varied role.
