Franchise Overview

Our four franchise opportunities include:

Contract Services – office and commercial cleaning

The contract cleaning market will always exist. Whether that’s daily office cleaning – emptying bins, cleaning desks, replenishing washrooms and vacuuming corridors – or periodic deep cleans of meeting rooms, function rooms, high traffic walkways and reception areas, regular office cleaning is a must in today’s business environment.

Residential Services – carpet, hard floor and upholstery cleaning

This multi-million pound market consists of homeowners wanting a professional service to clean their carpets, upholstery and hard floors.

Commercial Services – carpet, hard floor and upholstery cleaning

This is exactly the same as the residential carpet-cleaning franchise opportunity. Cleaning carpets, hard floor and upholstery is at the heart of this business but in the commercial sector. If you invest you will be called on by retail, leisure, commercial, industrial, finance, banking, high street and many more commercial enterprises.

Disaster Restoration Services – fire, flood, trauma and emergency cleaning

Not for the faint hearted, this franchise opportunity helps both homeowners and commercial customers clean up after emergencies and disasters. Extremely rewarding, but challenging, too.

The training programme takes place both at the ServiceMaster Franchise Support Centre in Leicester and on-site with existing franchisees to learn first-hand about running and operating a ServiceMaster Clean franchise.

Daily Life of a Franchisee

Contract Services

As a contract services franchisee, you’ll manage your time between business development duties, seeking out new contracts, working with the marketing team on campaigns and managing your existing contracts or staff who handle this for you. You’ll build a strong, customer-focused team around you to handle enquiries, manage client relationships and quality control at your customers’ sites.

Residential Services

You’ll start off working closely with residential customers cleaning carpets, upholstery, curtains and sofas, as well as hard floors. As your business develops, you’ll start to employ a team to handle enquiries and booking appointments, you’ll employ a second or even third technician and purchase multiple vans and your investment in staff and equipment will pay dividends.

Commercial Services

Similar to residential services, you’ll work closely with your customers but this time, they’ll be hoteliers, restaurant owners, pub landlords, estate agents or facilities management companies and you’ll be contracted to provide more regular carpet, upholstery and hard floor cleaning. As with residential services, as your business develops, you’ll employ a team to handle larger contracts and enquiries from long-term, happy customers who soon come to trust and rely on the service you deliver time and time again.

Disaster Restoration Services

A 24/7/365 business, you’ll be trained to provide specialist services, including cleaning following flood and fires for both national insurance contracts and locally developed clients. Called at any time of the day, you could be drying a property mid-afternoon and providing a deep clean following a trauma in the evening. Your customer-base will again come to trust and rely on the service your deliver and you’ll start to work with both residential and commercial clients across your territory.

  • Richard Mason

    ServiceMaster Clean: Richard Mason

Richard owns two of the three different franchises offered by ServiceMaster Clean, and he's found the work extremely rewarding on a personal level as well as financially, as he helps homeowners in trouble.

  • Tom Frame

    ServiceMaster Clean: Tom Frame

Tom was made redundant after working in the electronics industry for 20 years. He had strict criteria for his franchise investment, and has been delighted with the choice he made - expanding it further too!

  • Andy Telfer

    ServiceMaster Clean: Andy Telfer

Andy worked for ServiceMaster for 10 years before he became one of their franchisees, with his long apprenticeship in the industrial cleaning industry stood him in good stead to succeed when he got to the top.

  • Chris Knight

    ServiceMaster Clean: Chris Knight

Chris had previously owned a franchise alongside his father, running it for 10 years. He wasn't necessarily looking for another franchise to invest in, but found the ServiceMaster opportunity too good to miss out on.
