The Christmas Decorators provide a bespoke design, manufacture and installation service of both indoor and outdoor Christmas lights, luxuriously dressed Christmas trees, decorations and festive displays to both residential and commercial clients, turning properties into amazing Winter Wonderlands. We decorate for one-off events as well as the festive season.

Franchise Overview

The business was established in 2005 with the first franchise operation in 2007. There are no company-owned units. By the end of 2015 there will be 31 franchised territories across the UK with offices also in Aspen, Colorado and Dubai. There are currently no resale territories with more than 20 further new territories still available in the UK.

Training

5 days initial classroom training to include: the business model, the stock, marketing/sales and all other processes involved, including the CRM system.

2 days practical at head office on: interior decorating, making garlands and wreaths, and dressing Christmas trees.

2 days at head office or other suitable location: hands-on exterior decorating, putting lights and decorations on buildings or high streets. Additional training courses available through the year, open to all franchisees.

Daily Life of a Franchisee

The role of the franchisee is variable depending on the time of year. From March to August it is all about marketing the business, going to networking events, making and attending sales appointments with commercial clients.

In September it is about planning installations in the diary for both existing and new clients, checking and testing clients existing stock and ordering for the current year’s new clients. October, commercial installations start.

In November and first half of December, franchisees will be working long hours and often 7 days a week on installations and marketing to the residential clients.

The first 10 days of January, the installations have to be taken down, checked, packed and stored for the following year.
