This month, Middlesex-based entrepreneur, Parag Rabheru, has embarked on his new business venture at the helm of the in-home care provider, Visiting Angels. Combining his experience of caring for his own father and his unwavering desire to give back to his local community, Parag has revitalised Visiting Angels Middlesex to fulfil his personal mission of becoming an instrumental figure in the quality of local care provision. And having seen the devastating impact the pandemic had on the care industry, he hopes this new era for Visiting Angels will give care staff the tools they need to succeed, with support from a responsible and equally devoted employer.

With the help of his family, Parag provided much of the care for his father before he passed away, and so has seen first-hand the trials and tribulations carers, and those in need, go through on a daily basis. But with over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Parag’s keen passion for putting a smile on his clients’ faces and creating a happy team of staff will be the driving forces behind the in-home care provider. Now, having stepped away from his previous role to truly commit to improving local care provision, he hopes families’ lives will be made simpler as Visiting Angels seeks to relieve pressure and improve standards.

“I want to develop and nurture a business that can give back to the community that I am a part of,” explained Parag. “I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to take over Visiting Angels, as it’s a care provider that truly does adopt care within its entire ethos and mission – it’s not just about making money. And having experienced the difficulties local care providers face having dealt with many when my father was in need, I hope we can become a go-to service for families to trust. I’m now in a position to offer exceptional care to others. We’re a solution, not just for those in need, but for those who don’t have the time or skills to support their loved ones.”

Visiting Angels’ ‘carer-centric’ approach sets it apart from other companies in the in-home care sector. Carers working for Visiting Angels feel valued and respected for their commitment to the industry. Through both financial rewards, opportunities for career development and wellbeing considered a priority, Parag is determined to address existing issues surrounding the industry, which often leaves carers feeling underappreciated. These, combined with policies such as minimum one-hour visits to those in need of their services, are just a few of the changes Visiting Angels is making that sets them apart from other care providers in the region.

“Visiting Angels has the freedom and flexibility to truly tailor services to clients in need and give them a service they deserve,” added Parag. “Care providers are very stretched, and people often receive a below-standard service because of that. I understand people management and the issues care staff face. It’s my responsibility to be a brilliant employer for carers who are incredibly dedicated professionals. They deserve an equally dedicated company that cares for them just as much as they care for clients.”

In its mission to meet the growing demand for exceptional care providers as social care waiting lists rise by 37% in 6 months1, Visiting Angels is setting a precedent and truly making a difference for those who need attentive and high-quality care in the community.
