Commercial cleaning franchise Betterclean Services has updated its franchise package for 2026, introducing a number of structural changes aimed at reducing financial pressure on new owners in their first year of trading.

The most significant change is the removal of management service fees for the first 12 months. Under the standard model, franchisees pay a percentage of revenue back to the franchisor as an ongoing fee. The new arrangement suspends this during the early trading period, meaning new franchisees retain a greater share of income while they are establishing their client base.

According to research by the British Cleaning Council, the UK commercial cleaning industry contributed almost £67 billion to the economy in 2022, with forecasts suggesting the figure will continue to grow as businesses across all sectors outsource more of their long-term cleaning requirements. Betterclean Services franchisees run management operations, taking on local commercial contracts and overseeing a cleaning team, rather than carrying out the work directly. The model is built around recurring revenue from long-term client relationships.

The updated package also includes a marketing support trigger, once a franchisee reaches £5,000 per month in sales, they receive six months of additional marketing activity. The intention is to support growth towards an annualised turnover of approximately £150,000.

New franchisees are allocated a large exclusive territory, meaning commercial enquiries generated within that area are directed to them rather than to other operators in the network.

The support includes mentoring, a dedicated support team, structured training, and ongoing business and marketing guidance. Betterclean Services has been operating for over 30 years.
