Margaux Evans first opened the doors of her new Minuteman Press franchise in Epsom, England in October of 2018. Nearly seven years later, Margaux acquired The Wimbledon Print Company in September of 2025, a third-generation printing business with over 25 years in operation. Already looking to expand to a larger premises, Margaux relocated the business to Wimbledon, retained their staff, and immediately grew her client base. Minuteman Press is now located at Unit 3, Rear of 1-9, Tennyson Road, Wimbledon, England SW19 8SH.
In the following interview, Margaux shares why this acquisition was a win-win for both Minuteman Press and clients of The Wimbledon Print Company. Seller Michael Woolsey also offers his perspective and gratitude for selling the business to Margaux, and both share how Regional VP Mark Jones was a key catalyst for the sale.
How did the acquisition of The Wimbledon Print Company come about?
“Our RVP Mark Jones was instrumental in the acquisition. He contacted local printers and kept in contact with Michael the owner, ultimately leading to the acquisition. The sale has been a relief to Michael (the owner) due to life-changing circumstances. The acquisition has allowed the business to continue and loyal staff members to retain their jobs, saving him from shutting down the business. This way he also makes money from the sale.”
What were the top 3 key reasons for acquiring the business?
“Wimbledon Print Co. has over 25 years in the area. It was a legacy business spanning three generations—grandparents, dad, and son. Michael and his family built a well-established client base, and we moved our Minuteman Press centre to their larger premises. This has allowed me to merge the two businesses together, grow the team, and acquire new clients. We have taken over a larger business space, three additional team members, and additional equipment that allows us to do more products in-house.”

What has the transition been like for customers?
“When there is change we can expect uncertainty. We have retained all the staff from Wimbledon Print Co.! This has been instrumental in reassuring customers of our commitment to them and the business. They can continue as usual working with the same team, who retain all the knowledge and relationships they are used to.”
How has the business grown since the acquisition?
“Not only have we retained our key clients during the relocation, but we’ve also retained all the clients gained through the acquisition. We continue to add new local clients to the database everyday through the Minuteman Press Internet Marketing Programme.”
“After 25 years of running The Wimbledon Print Company, I reached a point where due to personal circumstances I needed to sell the business within a relatively short timeframe. It was a significant decision after so many years of dedication, and naturally I wanted the process to be as smooth as possible while ensuring the future of the company, my staff, and our customers.
Mark Jones and the Minuteman Press team made the process simple and surprisingly stress-free for such a major life event. Their experience and support throughout the transition was invaluable, guiding me through the steps along the way. I’m delighted that the business has passed into Margaux Evans’ capable hands. I’m confident she will continue to look after both the team and our loyal customers for many years to come.
Another major advantage was that the entire transaction was completed with no commission fees, which made a real difference. I would strongly recommend that anyone who is considering selling their print or print-related business seriously consider speaking to Minuteman Press first.”

Career Background: “I previously worked for a FTSE 100 commercial real estate company, as an HR Business Partner. I had no printing experience. I wanted to start my own business, leaving the city with a young family to work closer to home and to have a family business. Minuteman Press provided the structure, training and support to get a new business started.”
Top 4 Keys to Growth: “We’ve grown in the following ways: 1. This acquisition has had the largest impact; 2. The Internet Marketing Programme; 3. Networking has been a huge help since first starting the business; and 4. We continue to grow through customer service and referrals.”
High-Demand Products: “We do a lot of workbooks / manuals / exam papers – we also have a large volume of plan printing through an additional system we acquired called PLOTBOT which allows customers to order, pay, upload files for plan prints.”
Rewards: “I have a huge sense of pride in what we have achieved over the last 8 years, in both organic growth and the acquisition. We have made an impact in our community by creating jobs and providing essential services to businesses, community groups, and local schools, etc. I take great pleasure in showing my young children around the business and I love seeing how they find what we do to be so exciting.”
Advice for Others: “Starting your own business from scratch is hard work but sticking with it, having good support and a good attitude will go a long way.”
Final Thoughts: “I’d like to thank the team at Minuteman Press World HQ. They leave you to run your own business with autonomy, but they give you a huge background support system when you need them. The way they quietly work on many different projects for us owners that does not always get noticed.”
