Papa John’s multi-unit franchisees have turned up the heat on expansion with their latest new store opening in Timperley, Manchester. Mandy Kaur and husband Chan Singh now run seven Papa John’s including Timperley, plus Castleford which opened earlier this year in Yorkshire.

Mandy Kaur explains: “Timperley is about six miles southwest of central Manchester so is a great location for us.  We have recruited 15 new team members who have all been fully trained and now we are ready to deliver!”

Mandy and Chan joined Papa John’s in 2008 and have not been able to resist the temptation to expand their franchised operation.  Mandy confirms: “Now our children are settled in their own careers, the time is right for us to develop our own business further. The Papa John’s team have been incredibly supportive in relation to our ambitions for expansion, and we have been able to take advantage of incentive schemes for new store openings too.

“However, we couldn’t exist without our superb in-store teams.  Many of our people started out as delivery drivers and have progressed their careers with several now managing our stores. We have been excited to expand our Papa John’s family by welcoming more new team members to help us deliver to the communities around our newest store in Manchester, so more customers can enjoy the shared experience of Papa John’s pizza with their own family and friends.”

Before joining Papa John’s as franchisees, Mandy ran children’s day nurseries and Chan managed a small department at a local cotton mill.

Amit Pancholi UK director of business development, Papa John’s confirms: “Mandy and Chan’s success proves new franchisees don’t need direct experience in the food industry to succeed providing they have the right energy and mindset.  With Papa John’s training and support, we can guide business savvy, ambitious individuals and also third-party organisations to maximise the benefits Papa John’s can bring.  As well as our continued high-street growth plans, we are increasingly working with existing businesses such as holiday parks, leisure venues and sports stadiums so more people can enjoy the treat of Papa John’s pizza wherever they are.”

For those interested in running a multi-unit Papa John’s franchise or opening-up in a ‘non-traditional’ location such as a holiday park, leisure venue or sports stadium, incentives are on offer in addition to world-class support, comprehensive training and national marketing.  As a franchisor, the Company supplies all the assistance needed to get your successful Papa John’s up and running.
