Signs Express Worcester has entered an exciting new chapter following a management buyout by long-standing team members Mac Jenkinson and Rich Larkin.

Mac and Rich officially became the new owners of Signs Express Worcester with effect from 4 September, taking over from Lorraine Shellam, who has led the business for five years following the sad passing of her husband, Phil.

Having worked at the centre for many years, Mac and Rich have played an important role in its success and know the business, its customers and its values so well.

Mac and Rich will continue to build on the strong foundations laid by Lorraine and Phil, while maintaining the high standards of service, expertise and signage solutions that customers have come to expect from Signs Express Worcester.

Speaking about the move, Mac and Rich said:

“We’re excited to take on the business and continue the incredible legacy of Lorraine and Phil. We love the business, the industry and being able to support local businesses, seeing the difference we can make. We’re also humbled that Lorraine trusts us to take over the business and can’t wait to get stuck into ownership.”

The management buyout reflects a growing trend within the Signs Express network, with several centres having transitioned to new ownership through MBOs in recent years.

Aaron Davis, Network Development Director at Signs Express, said:

“We love to see MBOs within the network. While it’s also great to welcome new blood from outside the industry, an MBO offers a fantastic opportunity for Centre Managers, Production Managers and other team members to step up and move into ownership.

Having often worked across many areas of the business, they know it inside out, and it’s fantastic to see new doors open and talent recognised. We’re thrilled to welcome Rich and Mac to the network as franchisees and wish Lorraine all the very best for the future.”

Signs Express extends its thanks and best wishes to Lorraine Shellam as she steps back from the business and looks ahead to new, less demanding ventures. The network also gives a warm welcome to Mac and Rich as franchisees and looks forward to seeing the next chapter of Signs Express Worcester unfold.
