Children’s services franchise, Stagecoach Performing Arts, has teamed up with Sony Pictures to support the release of new film Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, hitting UK cinemas on the 14th October. As a result of the collaboration, Stagecoach will be running ‘Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile Show In a Box’ performance opportunities which Stagecoach franchisees can offer to the students that attend their classes. During a bespoke workshop, students will work towards a performance of an abridged version of the story.

“Our ‘Show In a Box’ initiative was launched last year and is essentially an additional opportunity for our franchisees as they market their acting, singing and dancing classes to students in their communities,” explained Andy Knights, CEO. “With the film starring household names, including Javier Bardem, Constance Wu and Shawn Mendes, we’re confident that this unique opportunity could help a wider audience realise the opportunities available when joining Stagecoach Performing Arts. This is an exciting endeavour for us as a brand and we’re proud to celebrate the launch of the film.”

The live action, CGI musical comedy will feature original songs performed by Shawn Mendes, Javier Bardem and Constance Wu, written by the song-writing team behind The Greatest Showman, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Joining Pasek and Paul in writing original songs for the film are Mendes, Ari Afsar, Emily Gardner Xu Hall, Mark Sonnenblick, and Joriah Kwamé.

“The Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile story  will appeal to children of all ages and having this as a Show In a Box will  support our franchisees to stand out from competitors in their territories,” continued Andy. We’re committed to ensuring our franchisees are equipped with the necessary marketing tools and opportunities to entice new students and keep existing students returning to class every term – plans are already underway for our 2023 partnerships.”

As part of the collaboration, Stagecoach will be running a number of giveaways with the top prize being a paid family trip to New York City. The giveaways will include pairs of cinema tickets and goody bags. To win the New York trip, candidates will be required to write a short story based on the main character from the film and Sam the Stagecoach Bear. Submissions must be completed by 21st October 2022.
