Growing numbers of people hate talking on the phone! Especially when they don’t know who they’re calling. To help you feel confident about taking the first step toward InXpress, meet James Siddy – the person you’ll end up talking to about our franchise.
Have you ever ignored a call when you don’t recognise the number? What about making calls? Would rather message-based communications, instead of dialling a number? You’re not alone!
Various surveys have been carried out, including one with 2,000 Millennials and Gen Zs by USwitch, which found 70% of under 35s prefer messaging to making calls[1]. An American survey also found that 81% of millennials need to summon up courage before making a call[2].
And why is making a call hated so much? One Millennial, lawyer and content creator, Henry Nelson-Case, quoted by the BBC[3], said, “it’s the anxiety associated with real-time conversations, potential awkwardness, not having the answers, and the pressure to respond immediately.”
Can you relate?
When it comes to investing in an InXpress franchise, sooner or later a physical conversation will be necessary, so we can help you decide if we’re the right brand for you, and if you’re the right fit for our franchise network.
One way to mitigate anxiety, is by knowing the person at the other end of the phone, which isn’t always easy – especially when it comes to enquiring about a franchise.
So, meet James
James Siddy is the InXpress UK Franchise Recruitment Director. He’s been with InXpress for most of his career, having experienced the business as both a franchisee and in franchisee support roles. “I was in my early 20s when I initially joined InXpress – first within the sales team, before co-owning InXpress Watford with my brother-in-law. I then had a brief spell helping establish InXpress in America.”
When he returned to the UK, James stepped away from InXpress to gain franchise experience in a different industry. It wasn’t long though before he was invited to bring this expertise to benefit the InXpress network. “I was invited to become a business coach, supporting franchisees to grow their businesses. I love franchising simply because, when you’ve got a proven model to follow and listen to your franchisor’s training and advice, you’re going to be successful. It’s also why I bought my second franchise, InXpress Coventry, which I steadily grew for about a year – before life drastically changed.”
Life-changing moment
In April 2025, James’ life was put on pause, after he suffered a sudden stroke. Unknown to him, he’d had an undiagnosed heart concern for quite some time. “I remember one minute I was sat on the sofa watching a movie with one of my daughters, the next, I woke up in a hospital bed. This kind of experience makes you re-evaluate life and what you want from it, something I know from conversations with others, I’m not the only one. People experience a life-changing moment, and suddenly their mindset shifts.”
You may be reading this, realising James’ story resonates because you’re also at a pivotal moment after life took an unexpected turn, which has caused you to reassess where you’re at and what’s important. As James says, “I want a good work life balance; I want to spend time with my girls and don’t want work to take over my life and that’s what InXpress can give you, so I want to help others achieve the same. The earning potential through InXpress is huge – if you build a good team around you, you’ll receive residual income which you can keep adding to, leaving you free to invest yourself in the best of life.”
How does InXpress work?
InXpress is a global shipping franchise, with over 450 franchisees successfully operating in 14 countries. We support customers with their local, national and international shipping. You’ll focus on finding and retaining customers; world-renowned and trusted carriers will collect and deliver their parcels. So, you’ll drive sales without driving a single van.
Although you choose how you work in your business day-to-day, the biggest aspect of running a successful InXpress business is making calls as you speak to new and existing customers, maintaining relationships with them. You can hire someone to do those initial sales for you. But if you decide to take the bull by the horns and do it yourself, we’ll train you to be and sound confident – our sales experts have experienced any and every type of call!
As James explains, “InXpress changes lives, I’ve seen it countless times. If you want to be successful, you’ve got to realise the hard work starts from Day One. However, you’ll have so much support with InXpress, you won’t be alone. Having the network around you provides a buffer, because any stage of your life, there’s always somebody in the network who’s experienced a challenge before and is willing to support you.”
