As a business, Oltco has always been passionate about helping combat the global issue of plastic waste. With its base in Newquay, Cornwall Oltco has seen first-hand the detrimental effects this can have on the environment. This passion inspired Oltco to launch its innovative Recycle Bound product, which is the world’s first sustainable resin driveway system utilising waste plastic which is already in circulation. Since January 2019, Oltco has already recycled the equivalent of over 40 million plastic straws and the business hasn’t stopped there…
Oltco has been hard at work behind the scenes and the team are bursting with excitement to announce that Oltco is taking its commitment one step further and will be eradicating plastic from its resin packaging and will instead be using recyclable metal tins.
After being thoroughly tried and tested within the Oltco network, Oltco is proud to say that all of its franchisees across the UK will be making the switch from plastic to tin.
Johnny Pearce, Co-Director says: “This was an easy decision for us but one that took a lot of time to finalise, and we couldn’t be more excited with the results. More companies should be choosing the planet over profit and we’re proud to be doing just that.”
“In business, it is common for people to make short-term decisions to bring about fast results with the sole aim of increasing profit. At Oltco we look to the future and want to make sure we are delivering the best results for our customers, our team and the planet. We’re proud to be a business that fights for change and one that focuses on the triple bottom line (people, planet and profit)”
Tom Stringer, Co-Director adds: “This launch not only means a lot to Johnny and I but also to our wider Oltco network. We discussed the new packaging with each member of the Oltco team and found their insight incredibly valuable. Their feedback filled us with every confidence as we received a unanimous ‘of course we should do this.’ It means so much to us to have the support from our Oltco family.”
“This new packaging launch fits perfectly with our ethos ‘to feel good about the work that we do and the decisions that we make,’ and it demonstrates our continued commitment to protecting the environment. We hope our customers love this new packaging as much as we do!”
