Papa John’s celebrates 1,000th international store with London visit

Pizza lovers got the chance to pick up a free Papa John’s pizza and meet ‘Papa’ John himself last week after he visited the franchise’s Tower Bridge store one lunchtime. John Schnatter (above), founder and CEO of Papa John’s, was handing out pizzas to visitors and fans as part of a whistle-stop tour of the UK to celebrate the company opening its 1,000th international store (outside the US) recently in Moscow.

Raheel Choudhary, franchisee of the Tower Bridge Papa John’s store, said: “We are delighted that John visited our store as part of the international celebrations.

“The journey of how he turned his dream for his first true love, pizza, into reality is truly inspirational, with him selling his prized car to buy his first set of restaurant equipment and subsequently building the company into a global phenomenon with more than 4,000 stores in 34 countries across the world. It was great to see him at our store interacting with Papa John’s fans.”

John Schnatter commented: “I’ve had a fantastic time visiting the UK. It was great to see all the PJ fans outside the Tower Bridge store and I hoped they all enjoyed the pizza and our ‘Better ingredients. Better pizza’ philosophy!”
