Revive! Auto Innovations UK Ltd win prestigious national business Franchise Support Award

Revive! Auto Innovations UK Ltd, a mobile vehicle and alloy wheel paint repair service which reduces the need to visit a traditional bodyshop for minor scuffs and scrapes, has been announced as the winner of the Franchise Support Award category at the prestigious annual bfa HSBC Franchise Awards 2018.

Run by the British Franchise Association (bfa), these widely-respected awards recognise both franchisors and franchisees who have demonstrated outstanding business acumen, innovation and achievement. Franchising is a simple relationship between two parties, the franchisor who owns the brand and business system, and the franchisee who contracts to run a copy of that business in a local area.

The bfa HSBC Franchise Award winners were announced last night, 28thJune 2018, at the ICC in Birmingham at an exclusive black-tie ceremony held between day one and two of the bfa Annual Conference. The Franchise Support Award recognises franchisors who have provided a framework that includes continual training, coaching and mentoring, encouraging optimum performance and excellent engagement with franchisees. The judges were particularly impressed by their Accelerated Business Plan Programme which is available to high achieving group members which offers a supportive mentoring to plan for further growth.

Since day one, Revive! has been determined to set high standards for the SMART repair industry, and has the largest UK network of accredited repairers. It provides its franchisees with all the tools and training they need to build and grow successful businesses and is dedicated to supporting their franchisees throughout their ownership.

Revive! achieves this level of success as it has a clear profile in mind for new recruits – it is looking for ambitious, dynamic candidates who want to grow a business. It is also passionate about standards, providing a clear training pathway for each franchisee, with training taking place over a three-month period, moving them up from Trainee to Rookie status.

Importantly, support does not stop after the launch. Revive! helps with each stage of the business, working with franchisees as they as they take on their first employee and begin to grow their business. There is a range of support available, including helping to conduct interviews, providing technical assessment and training, as well as support with contracts, and induction programmes, among other support methods. Some of its larger franchisees employ 10 – 20 people and run much bigger businesses, some across multiple territories.

The results of the support the company offers is demonstrated in a number of ways: over half of its franchisees are now running multiple vans, so have already moved away from being ‘a man in a van’. The number in the High Performer group grows every year, up from 5 in 2011, to 15 at the end of 2017, with an expected 5 ready to join this group in 2018. Over 40% of its franchisees grew their sales by 20%+ in 2017.

On winning the Franchise Support Award, Mark Llewellyn, Managing Director of Revive!  said, “We are thrilled to win this award for the second time.  We have never rested on our laurels, always striving to deliver the highest quality of support to our franchisees and continually investing in people and technology to keep Revive! at the forefront of the SMART repair industry.  We couldn’t have won this award without the dedication and commitment of our brilliant head office team who work tirelessly to mentor and support the network and I’d like to say a huge thank you to them – it will be party time when we get back to the office!”

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the bfa, said, “It’s over forty years since the bfa was launched specifically to develop ethical franchising in the UK, and I am proud of the way the sector has grown in that time, with the industry’s turnover exceeding £15bn – that’s 1% of the UK’s GDP! If you are running a successful business or want to be your own boss, then franchising is a valid and important option for accelerating your business growth or starting your own commercial venture.

“The bfa HSBC Franchise Awards 2018 are a celebration of the broad church that is franchising in the UK, from a large multi-national to a lifestyle business, as franchisors come in all shapes and sizes. Every year it’s really great to see the excellent work our members demonstrate through their entries and the quality has never been higher. I would like to thank all our finalists in this year’s awards and congratulate our winners, it was an extremely hard job for the judges to separate them. It great to see such a wide range of businesses represented as it really does illustrate the depth and breadth of franchising opportunities in the UK.

“Revive! Auto Innovations UK Ltd have done extremely well to win the Franchise Support Award in what was a very competitive field. They have an impressive support programme for both new and longer-term franchisees, showing their sustained commitment to their network. Their Accelerated Business Plan Programme is open to their high performer group, offering a guided ‘planning for growth’, and it’s fantastic to see the focus on developing even the highest of achievers. Congratulations on winning this award and all the best for the future.”
Andrew Brattesani, UK Head of Franchising for the Awards’ sponsor HSBC, said, “HSBC is delighted to be once again supporting these industry leading franchise awards. Franchise businesses are often the hidden engine of business growth in the UK and it is essential to highlight the important contribution both large and small businesses make to our economy. It is also important to showcase to people that they can run their own businesses and if you don’t want to go it alone, or haven’t got a strong business idea, you can still be successful and become your own boss, as together we thrive.”
