The Alternative Board names its Franchisee of the Year

York franchisee Ed Reid scooped the first ever Franchise Owner of the Year award at The Alternative Board (TAB) spring conference after being chosen from a network of 18 franchisees across the UK.

A sales and marketing specialist, Ed chose TAB 2 years ago as a business model which would enable him to use his skills and experience to help SMEs in the local area. In that time he has established and grown his franchise business rapidly despite an atmosphere of economic challenge and uncertainty, and now facilitates 4 boards and has grown his membership to 24 business owners.

Accepting the award, Ed said: “The rollercoaster of running your own business gives me an incredible buzz and it would not be anything like as much fun without my fellow TAB franchise owners and of course my members.”

Paul Dickinson, presenting the award, said Ed was nominated by peers who had described him as “totally professional, providing excellent support and a great team player who shows absolute commitment to TAB”.

The spring conference is one of two International events held annually to celebrate and champion the achievements of all TAB franchise owners, to share best practice and stimulate thought. This is the first time it has been held in the UK – recognition of the fact that the TAB business has doubled in size in this country over the past 12 months.
