Sarah Cressall, founder of The Creation Station, has been short listed for the prestigious Extraordinary Woman Awards. The awards are presented to ‘outstanding women’ for various achievements and Sarah has been nominated in the Extraordinary Entrepreneurship category, for women who have built their own successful business from scratch.
During her three pregnancies Sarah was confined to a wheelchair due to a medical condition. This frustrating experience, combined with a lack of quality creative activities for her own boys fed her determination to nurture the relationship with her children through enjoyable and educationally valuable creative activities. From her kitchen table in Devon in 2002, the idea for Sarah’s highly successful children’s activity business was borne.
Sarah, who is also a previous winner of the Business Woman of the Year for Leicestershire, commented: “I have achieved my dream of balancing career and family life and now I help other women to do the same by running their own creative businesses that fit around their families. I am delighted to have been recognised for this work by being selected as a finalist for such a prestigious, nationally recognised award.”
The final award winners will be announced on Tuesday 10 May 2011 at the Extraordinary Women Conference and Awards ceremony at East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham.
