Your application will begin with a review of your current business model. You don’t have to be BFA ready, we’ll help you every step of your journey. This is a collaborative process involving you, our team and our accredited advisors. Our aim is not just to verify that your business is franchisable, but also to help you meet the standards required to satisfy the European Code of Ethics for franchises.
Potential members should be able to demonstrate the suitability of their business for franchising through four key criteria:
Your product or service is saleable, and at a level of profit that will sustain a franchised network.
It’s possible to transfer your know-how to someone operating at a distance.
All business information material to your franchise proposition and contract is disclosed without ambiguity to prospective franchisees.
The franchisor will abide by the BFA’s Code of Ethics in all aspects of it’s relationship with it’s franchisees.
The membership level you apply for will depend on how long your franchise has been operating and the current size of your network. If you are unsure on which membership category your brand fits in, that’s ok, please just click on the logo most relevant to you below and we will be in touch.
These brands have longevity in the industry and a substantial network of franchisees.
Every brand joins us for a different reason. It could be the credibility the BFA gives them in the franchise marketplace, access to promotional opportunities and standards-based education, or just because they want to belong to their industry body and gain support from us and their peers.

Life as a franchisor can be extremely overwhelming and solitary at times but knowing you can reach out to the organisation or other members is key to navigating success. Thank you BFA”
