Greensleeves Lawn Care has unveiled its most environmentally friendly innovation yet – a new slow-release fertiliser exclusively developed in collaboration with Origin Amenity Solutions. Launching nationwide this month, this innovative product is designed to revolutionise lawn care for franchisees by combining sustainability with exceptional performance.

Designed with eco-conscious home owners in mind, the fertiliser features a coated, controlled-release formula combined with an advanced plant-derived organo-mineral technology. It delivers nutrients in harmony with the natural growth cycles of lawns, preventing excessive growth during wet conditions. This technology improves nitrogen use efficiency, minimises environmental impact while offering a pet- and child-safe solution, making it an ideal choice for greener, safer outdoor spaces.

“At Greensleeves, we’re proud to champion sustainable solutions that make life easier for franchisees and greener for customers,” said Cheryl Harper, MD of Greensleeves. “This new fertiliser reflects our commitment to eco-friendly practices and our vision for change in 2025. Customers are increasingly seeking out businesses with a conscience, and this product helps our franchisees deliver on that promise.”

The fertiliser underwent rigorous testing, including a successful trial by several franchisees last autumn. Franchisees were provided with a pallet of the product and equipment to assess its performance. The results were overwhelmingly positive, showing improved lawn colour, enhanced health and consistent growth. These benefits stem from the fertiliser’s temperature-controlled release mechanism, which synchronises nutrient delivery with natural plant growth patterns.

Franchisees have also received comprehensive training and support to develop their services, ensuring a smooth rollout across the entire network that reflects the high-quality standards of the new fertiliser. Oliver Wood, franchisee at Greensleeves Huddersfield, was one of the first to trial it. “We applied the fertiliser in mid-September and while the difference wasn’t immediately obvious, that consistency is exactly what customers value,” he said. “Normally, with organic or greener products, you expect to compromise on results, but this was identical, if not better!

“We trialled it on around 350-400 lawns and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive – no complaints and no downsides. As a franchisee, being able to confidently offer an eco-friendly solution not only improves our service but also helps us appeal to environmentally conscious clients.”

For Cheryl, the overwhelmingly positive response from franchisees like Oliver highlights the potential of the new fertiliser. “This initiative is about more than just improving lawn care – it’s about setting a new standard for sustainable practices in our industry,” she said. “It’s exciting to see our franchisees and customers already embracing these changes, and I’m confident this is just the beginning of a greener, more innovative future for Greensleeves in 2025 and beyond.”
