Leading franchise The Alternative Board (TAB) UK has hosted its annual Member Event, bringing together attendees from across the UK.
Held at the Latimer Estate in Chesham, the two-day event brought together TAB franchise business owners and their members for an opportunity to learn, share experiences and invest in themselves as leaders. The agenda combined keynote speakers with interactive panels and discussions all focused on this year’s chosen theme of resilience.
“Not resilience as a buzzword,” commented Ed Reid, Managing Director of TAB UK. “Real resilience. How to cope with setbacks. How to maintain perspective when things don’t go to plan. How to look after yourself physically and mentally so that you can continue performing at a high level. Collectively, the speakers explored mental toughness, resilience, succession planning, health, wellbeing and the dangers of constant comparison. Despite their different approaches, they all arrived at a similar conclusion: The health of your business is closely linked to the health of its leader.”
As a franchise focused on helping business owners and their leadership teams move forward through a peer community and proven leadership and strategy tools, bringing members together from across the country, proved highly successful. While members typically meet monthly with their local peer board, the national event extended the opportunity to learn from business owners beyond their usual group.
“Bringing together members from different regions and professions was a uniquely powerful experience,” added Ed. “The conversations became broader and the perspectives wider. The opportunities for learning multiplied and I’m confident every attendee felt the benefit of taking two days to invest in themselves.”
The response from members to the event was impressive. Average scores across all four speakers was 92%, reflecting how strongly the content resonated with the commercial and personal challenges TAB members face every day.
“Events like this demonstrate the value we deliver to SMEs and the strength of the national TAB network in driving business growth across the UK,” concluded Ed. “Members came away inspired, challenged and full of new ideas and we are excited to see what they all do next!”
The Member Event also reinforced TAB’s continued growth as a franchise. With opportunities available across the UK, including prime central London and other major city locations, TAB is seeking experienced professionals who want to build a rewarding, scalable business of their own.
Its proven model enables franchisees to use the skills gained during their corporate careers to support SME owners and senior leadership teams, become part of their local business community and grow a successful franchise with the backing of an established national network.
