The Newton Fallowell estate agency network, which is celebrating 25 years in business, has pledged to celebrate its milestone 25-year anniversary by planting 25,000 trees to help tackle climate change.

David Spackman, Newton Fallowell MD, said: “We started this initiative back in 2021, when we pledged to plant a young tree every time one of our offices ‘planted’ a Sold board. Since then, thousands of trees have been planted and by the end of this year we have committed to planting a grand total of 25,000 trees.

 “I am incredibly proud that Newton Fallowell has chosen to celebrate 25 years in business with an initiative that is designed to help tackle climate change.  We are very aware of the important role that trees play in absorbing and storing the carbon dioxide emissions that are driving global warming. To date we have planted 23,000 trees, and it is estimated that this will have eliminated 276 tonnes of C02 emissions. This is an amazing achievement, and testimony to the fantastic work of all our franchisees.

“The Newton Fallowell network, which has its Head Office in Grantham, Lincolnshire, is determined to reduce its carbon footprint as much as possible.  We recognise that our negotiators are out and about every day going to viewings and we encourage everyone to use electric cars if they can, and to walk to appointments rather than drive if feasible, as well as trying to become paper free offices.

“It is incredible that 25 years have passed since Mark Newton founded the company in 1999. Mark actually has ancestral links to the famous scientist Isaac Newton, who discovered the law of gravity after apparently sitting under an apple tree and watching an apple fall to the ground!  This makes our Newton Fallowell tree planting initiative even more fitting somehow. Although Mark has now retired, his son David is still very much involved, and the Newton Fallowell business continues to be hugely successful, with about 40 branches across the East and West Midlands.

Much has changed since 1999 – for example many of Newton Fallowell’s franchisees now provide residential lettings services as well as estate agency and financial services and are continually evolving, innovating and adapting our business model so that we continue to meet the needs of our clients. Providing excellent customer service remains at the heart of everything that Newton Fallowell stands for, and we are looking forward to the next 25 years in business.
