One year in franchising by Tony Nolan

When Tony Nolan bought into a Card Connection greeting card franchise, he was in an excellent potion to understand fully what he was getting himself into.

“I was doing part-time merchandising for one of their current franchisees who was looking to downsize by selling half of his area, so it was a real case of Try Before You Buy,” explains Tony.

Knowing the product, the customers and getting a full insight from the sitting franchisee made it relative ‘no brainer’ for Tony to be able to invest in his franchise.

One year after going it alone with his own franchise and things are looking good!  He’s putting his own stamp on the business and enjoys having the support of Card Connection as a leading franchisor to be able to turn to.

“There’s not really a typical day, so I’ve had plenty of variety during my first year of trading.   When making merchandising calls I manage my own routes, spreading work evenly during the month. I get to use a variety of skill sets – stock & order experience, retailing, merchandising, accountancy. All these play a part.”

The flexibility of being his own boss has really worked for Tony on a personal level.

“It’s opened up an exciting new chapter of my life. I’ve got a great sense of achievement over the first year and it’s rewarding to see my progress and how far I have come. I’m looking forward to a long and rewarding future with Card Connection.”
