What does a cleaning franchisee do all week?

If you’re picturing someone racing between houses with a hoover in the boot of their car, that’s not it. Domestic Angels franchisees run their businesses. They don’t deliver the cleaning themselves.

So what does a normal week look like?

Monday: Planning and priorities

Monday usually starts with a review.

New enquiries that came in over the weekend. Messages from the team. Any changes to client schedules.

A franchisee might:

  • Check rota coverage for the week
  • Respond to Angel messages
  • Respond to client messages
  • Respond to new client enquiries and arrange visits
  • Allocate new clients to Angels

It’s organised, not frantic. Structured, not chaotic.

We also have our weekly network-wide online call on a Monday morning, so if you’ve got any questions, tricky situations or wins to share, we’re all there for each other.

This can all be done from home.

Midweek: Team and standards

Daily customer and Angel communication aside, midweek is about quality and leadership.

That might include:

  • Checking in with Angels
  • Angel admin
  • Supporting a team member
  • Following up with a client
  • Reviewing standards
  • Interviewing new Angels when needed

This is where communication and organisational leadership show up, creating a calm, clear, consistent culture within your business.

You’re not selling or cleaning all day. You’re managing.

Also midweek: Marketing happens steadily, not aggressively

There isn’t usually a big sales push.

Marketing tends to be:

  • Local visibility, which often means going out and having a chat
  • Social posts, your social media is your shop front
  • Responding to enquiries promptly, more chatting
  • Occasionally attending a local event

Because the model is established, you’re not inventing strategy. You’re applying a proven one.

Thursday: Admin and forward planning

Thursday is often about looking ahead.

  • Checking, confirming and distributing the next week’s timetables
  • Communicating with Angels and customers about variations, special requests and new clients

Again, structured. Predictable. Manageable.

Friday

Only the essentials.

So if you’ve been wondering what does a cleaning franchisee do in practice, this is the reality.

What doesn’t happen

You’re not:

  • Cleaning clients’ homes day in, day out
  • Cold calling strangers
  • Hustling for hours on social media
  • Making it up as you go along

You’re running a business within a framework that’s already built.

How many hours does it take?

Most Domestic Angels franchisees work structured daytime hours. Many choose school hours. Some grow faster and work more. Others build steadily.

The key difference is that you are managing the business, not delivering the cleaning. That changes the nature of the role completely.

Like any business, it requires consistency. But it is predictable and organised, not chaotic.

The rhythm matters

You may be surprised by how normal this all feels very quickly.

It’s a business, yes. But it fits around school runs, caring responsibilities and real life.

It requires commitment and responsibility. It doesn’t require you to become someone else.

If you’ve been curious about what running a Domestic Angels franchise really looks like week to week, this is it.

Structured. Supported. Built to work steadily over time.
