Previously, I was an Early Years and KS1 teacher and music co-ordinator in primary schools and whilst I had no formal music qualification, I have always enjoyed playing the piano and singing, and I have always been passionate about music and the value of music in early years education. Monkey Music offered the perfect opportunity to combine my love of music, my teaching experience and wanting to be a part of my family life. I have been with Monkey Music for nearly 25 years and have a truly well-established territory in the heart of London. I still continue to teach some classes but now manage a team of experienced Monkey Music teachers who work across my territory and an administrator who is invaluable.
Head Office Support Team has always been great if I’ve ever needed help and I am grateful for the ongoing training which is really important to keep the classes fresh. I’ve been here so long because It’s great fun and so rewarding – I can vary the amount I work (within reason), I’ve mostly been able to collect children from school and attend class assemblies and productions. It’s a fulfilling, rewarding career – I can’t think of anything else that would work around family life so well!
