What common franchising myths have you encountered, particularly regarding your brand or sector?

A common myth we encounter is that franchising, as an industry, lacks innovation, with some believing that it stifles creativity. On the contrary, FASTSIGNS encourages franchisees to be innovative within their markets, while still benefiting from a strong brand and proven business model. Our franchisees are local business owners who understand their community’s unique needs, allowing for tailored solutions and personal customer service. At FASTSIGNS we strive to provide a strong foundation of business management principles including marketing strategy, which help our franchisees to effectively communicate our brand and service offering. Our franchisees then have the latitude and creative outlet to layer on top of this creating marketing content that resonates with their local community.

Another myth is that success in franchising is only for those with direct industry experience. In reality, FASTSIGNS’ franchisees come from many diverse backgrounds. Our comprehensive training and support systems are designed to equip franchisees with the knowledge and skills required to operate a successful business, regardless of their previous experience. All we ask our franchisees to have is the ability to learn and to follow the model, any experience they bring to their team, whether that be management expertise, sales drive or creative vision we can help them build a team that facilitates the business operation.

What key factors contribute to the success of franchised businesses in your experience?
