Now running more than one van in Belfast and surrounding territories, Adam is an old hand at the mobile coffee van franchise game, and offers these words of advice to anyone considering following in his footsteps.
Please tell us a bit about yourself and what you were doing prior to becoming a Really Awesome Franchisee?
I was a BDM for Henderson Group (SPAR NI). I enjoyed my 15 years there.
Why did you decide to run your own business and why Really Awesome Coffee specifically?
I always wanted to run my own business, after many years of helping other business owners in my role at Hendersons. I could see the growth in the coffee market, and I was really impressed by the mobile coffee van model.
After carrying out plenty of research, I could see that Really Awesome Coffee were the real market leaders in this industry.
Tell us a bit about your training at Head Office and your business launch.
The training was good and I really enjoyed it.
It was tough at the start as I already had five rival coffee vans and a few food vans on my territory!
How have you found the ongoing training and support?
The ongoing training and support has been fantastic. I definitely couldn’t have launched my business as successfully without the support of the Franchise Development Manager and Head Office.
What is the most invaluable piece of advice you could give someone looking to invest in their first franchise?
It’s a very enjoyable job. But running a business can be tough and lonely. You need to be prepared for all of the ups and downs that come with it.
