Canopy Nurseries has opened its newest managed site in Uxbridge, marking a
significant step for the growing early years franchise as it continues to expand its
modern, nature inspired network.
The new nursery will operate as a full day setting and will also serve as a dedicated
training centre for new franchisees and nursery managers, providing a central space
for induction, development and quality assurance. This will support the franchise as it
continues to grow in new regions.
The nursery is located within a heritage building that had stood empty for more than
five years before undergoing a complete restoration. Original fireplaces and beams
have been retained to preserve the character of the building, while new spaces have
been designed to reflect Canopy’s nature inspired learning philosophy. The site
includes an indoor playground, a sensory room and extensive gardens that will give
children the space to learn about nature and understand where their food comes from,
from seed to spoon. The nursery chef will also run Canopy Cooks sessions so that
children can help prepare and enjoy the food they grow.
The renovation was delivered by The School Renovation Company, specialists in the
development of education environments.
Bruce Lovelock, Director of The School Renovation Company, said:
“Restoring this building has been a privilege. It has been sensitively repaired and
renewed to give Canopy a high quality space for early years care and staff training. It
is a project we are very proud to be part of.”
The opening follows a period of rapid growth for Canopy Nurseries. The franchise was
awarded Bronze for Emerging Franchise of the Year at the European Franchise Awards
2025 and has doubled in size since the start of the year. Several further developments
are already under way for openings planned in 2026.
Sarah Charles, Managing Director of Canopy Nurseries, said:
“Canopy is built on the belief that children thrive when they are surrounded by
environments that are inspiring and modern. This managed site brings that vision to
life while also providing a supportive space for the development of our franchise
teams. It represents an important step in strengthening quality and consistency
across the network.”
More than ninety families have already registered interest ahead of opening, reflecting
the strong demand for the Canopy model in new communities. The nursery is now open
for settling in sessions and family visits and will be working toward Green School
accreditation once fully operational.
