I worked as an Operations Director in a London Post Production facility for film and television but always had a desire to run my own business. I attended Monkey Music classes with my little girl and I was a huge fan! When I decided to look for a career change that would give me more flexibility around my growing young family, I immediately thought of Monkey Music! I began teaching all the classes myself in my new territory but since buying an additional existing territory I have numerous teachers and an office administrator. The support from Head Office is great and I like the fact that we use a range of communication tools including Zooms which are often recorded to ensure you don’t miss anything and can always catch up on shared knowledge.
It can be tough working for yourself and feeling the obvious pressures of owning your own business when external circumstances affect your business such as the recent pandemic but I find great joy in being able to do what I love all day (singing!), being my own boss, and the flexibility around my family life. Seeing how our classes make such a huge difference to our local families, in both the development of the children and socially for all of the families, is incomparable.
