Hi! My name is Sophie and I am the owner of Basking Babies Burnham, Hatfield Peverel and Maldon. I officially took over my business in January 2022 and haven’t looked back since!
Before embarking on this adventure, I was a primary school teacher and a special educational needs coordinator (SENCo). Whilst I was on maternity leave with my little boy, I found out that it was not going to be possible to return to my job on a part-time basis, returning full-time was not something that would work for me and my family and so I made the decision to leave without knowing what I would do next. At the time, I was attending a Basking Babies baby yoga course. I got chatting to the lovely instructor and we talked about all of the fantastic benefits of being a Basking Babies franchise owner…and here I am!
It very quickly became clear to me that owning my own business would give me the flexibility that I desired to work around being a mummy. It gives me the freedom to put being a mum first.
The process to become a franchisee was well thought out. Each step was really informative and designed to ensure that I knew I was making the right decision. Despite having absolutely no business owning experience or knowledge, the support provided at every stage is incredible and has given me the ability to confidently run my own business.
I can honestly say that I absolutely love doing what I do now and I feel so fortunate to be able to call this “work”! If you’re considering joining our team, go for it!
