Patsy Day, owner of Belvoir Bury St. Edmunds and Belvoir Norfolk, is celebrating 15 very successful years in business and looking forward to the next 15.

Patsy bought the Belvoir Bury St Edmunds office in 2009 and further expanded her business by purchasing Belvoir Norfolk eight years later. Over the years Patsy has introduced a sales service, recruited a great team, and brought on board two new managers to run the offices as she focuses on business development.

“It’s been incredibly hard work over the years, but I’ve always really enjoyed what I’m doing, and slowly, steadily, property by property, I’ve built a very successful business,” says Patsy. “For the last few years I’ve been very focused on refining our services, and it’s paying off as in our reviews people predominantly say wonderful things. We are a very client-focused business, and the Belvoir strapline ‘Property is Personal’ says everything about us, and what we do.

Franchise support

“Being part of a franchise has always been very helpful, but especially so in the early days, when my workload was very challenging and I was the mother of two young children. Although challenges can be difficult, I’m a very resilient person and there was never a time when I stopped loving what I was doing. I’m also good at my job, and all the hard work has been worth it as I now have an incredible work/life balance!

“About five years ago I remodelled my business and brought into two managers. For the past 18 months I’ve worked a four-day week, working one of those days from home, and as I’ve just celebrated a big birthday, I’m currently enjoying life, and taking some great holidays.

“I love the fact that Belvoir is an honest, solid brand and a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure that franchisees remain compliant. The support we receive is really valuable, and not something that you would experience as an independent.

“I was recently selected to do the Belvoir Group Elevate high-performance growth programme, which provides enhanced leadership and management training to more experienced franchisees. This has been a real game changer for me and a wonderful opportunity. I’m happy to say that life is really good, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next 15 years with Belvoir!”
